La méthode des phosphènes  d’Emmanuel Eggermont
In order to be them we must be us…, de Robyn Orlin

Two choreographers, two different eyes on contemporary dance. Robyn Orlin – major figure of the South-African profession, and Emmanuel Eggermont – young artist living in Lille, make an attempt at children’s performance. Twice counts two shows, one duo and the first-time shudder. Emmanuel Eggermont and Robyn Orlin have no common heritage. In fact, their differences are the roots of this double-bill. The challenge for each artist is creating a 20-minute play destined to children and teenagers for dancers Jihyé Jung (South Corea) and Wanjiru Kamuyu (Kenya). The first one is inspired by phosphenes – the colored stains remaining a few seconds under ours lids after staring at a luminous point. Starting from this chromatic hanging world, he composes a choreography awakening the audience’s senses – no matter how old they are. The second one draws in questions pervading his work for over thirty years ; social exclusion or the rejection of the other here seen from the angle of school bullying. A night to rediscover children’s show in a new light.
