chorégraphie Jean-Claude Gallotta
After My Rock – one of last year huge success, Jean-Claude Gallotta carries on his choreographic journey through rock. This time, he turns to feminine figures such as Brenda Lee, Marianne Faithfull, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Aretha Franklin, Nina Hage, Joan Baez, Tina Turner, Nico, Patti Smith or Wanda Jackson, who didn’t go in for half measures. Visionaries, fighters or even sometimes warriors, they succeeded in blowing up the male chauvinism constraint ruling in rock music. They gave themselves the right to be who they were – to the point of their excessive behaviors, musical gift, and transgender games.
We delightfully get back for fourteen sequences to the Grenoble choreographer’s twirling savage dance. Solos, duos, trios, quartets, group dancing, he mixes combinations to better question passion, freedom and feminine rock rage. Mischievous, sensual, exhilarating, dancing rocks and embraces the stage between frantic race, falling and jerking.
