Have you ever dreamt of being present at your own funerals ? Such fantasy present in the minds of many people inspired pianist and composer Jean-François Zygel who invited Nicole Sorti and Spirito to celebrate with him his own funerals. Funerals to which he will of course attend and comment with his brilliant mind-blowing improvisations the wonderfully smooth and comforting singing of men and women come. Weaving together extracts from sacred pieces from Purcell, Mozart, Bach, Fauré, Poulenc, Rachmaninov, Stravinsky, Ligeti or Duruflé and a great kaddish in Aramaic he specially composed for the occasion, Jean-François Zygel creates and performs un Requiem imaginaire he reinvents every night depending on his inspiration… On stage, a moving choreographed choir occupies the space like a wave – facets contrasted with a multicolored sunny and fervent rose.
